Over the course of the Russian-Ukrainian war, tens of thousands of soldiers have returned with severe injuries resulting in loss of limbs. This special league gives them a chance to regain their physical fitness, find their place in a new life, and support their country. 

Amp-football's popularity is skyrocketing. Several Ukrainian teams have already been formed including in: Dnipro (Cherkasy), Pokrova (Lviv), Shakhtar Stalevy (Donetsk), and Oktopus (Odesa). Communities actively support these new initiatives with their experience and knowledge. 

But, despite the crucial role that amp-football is playing in the lives of veterans, it is still in its infancy in Ukraine and has no sustainable government or systemic funding up to now. The teams rely on volunteers, enthusiasts, and the veterans themselves. Organizations such as the "League of the Strong" who are promoting adaptive sports play an influential role. 

When severe injuries result in loss of arms and legs, amputees find amp-football a remarkable way to boost their psychological well-being and their rehabilitation. Participation gives them a sense of community and helps them restore their self-confidence with like-minded people.
