About

A week ago (on August 26, 2024), my attention was drawn to paintings and drawings on the walls of a subway station in the centre of Kharkiv. This deeply moving and evocative artwork is by children who will begin the school year on September 1. Unfortunately, most will be online, some will be in Kharkiv's underground school. It was built at a neighboring subway station a year ago.
Can we imagine — the impact of this unprovoked war of aggression and terror on children's learning and growing, on young people in their formative years? Can we imagine — for a ten-year-old in Ukraine, Russia's full-scale invasion represents a quarter of their entire life?
Giving an "I support you" below and sharing this Moment of Truth on our social networks are simple acts that lift their bravery. No matter where we are, we stand together in love and solidarity.

Children have the right to have a happy childhood without war.
