Easter 2022

By Mariia Minieieva

aiIn my childhood, my parents used to organize a celebration for my brothers and me on Easter. They hid different presents, such as toys and sweets for us, and we had to search for our gifts. Even though about eight years has passed since the first time, I still keep those little presents. This is one of my warmest memories from childhood. When we got older, we stopped that tradition. But we still paint Easter eggs and, in the morning, we go to church to canonize them.

My family had to separate because of the war. Easter no longer felt like a family holiday

aiThis year, my family had to separate because of the war. Easter no longer felt like a family holiday. My brothers, mother, and I even forgot about it somehow.
aiAlthough this celebration fell through, I am sure that I will have many more opportunities to enjoy Easter together with my family.
