My son Rustam will always be 26

By Olena Skala Skaletska

aiOn the morning of the third of May, we were still talking with our son, and then there was silence. Iryna Aliyeva found out about the death of her only son from his fiancée Elena.
aiRustam Aliyev went to fight from the first day. A miner from Kryvyi Rih was assigned to a tank division that was 50 km from Kryvyi Rih. They held back the advance of Russian invaders from the Kherson region. He called Rustam almost every day. He said that he saw Russian soldiers from tanks shooting at Ukrainian houses in the villages, because the enemy was occupying positions hundreds of meters from them.
aiOn May 4, Elena and I went crazy all day. At first there was no connection, and then no one picked up the phone. Where to call, who to ask? And the mine already knew about the death of Rustam Aliyev and posted the information on social networks. That's how I learned about the death of my son.

I look at his photos, listen to his voice on the video and do not understand how to live on.

aiRustam was mourned by Poltava region, I come from Karlivka and my relatives on the paternal line are from Azerbaijan. I look at his photos, listen to his voice on the video and do not understand how to live on.
aiI carry flowers to his grave and the grave of his brother Viktor Polezhayev, they died in the same trench during shelling. They served together and now lie together on the Alley of Glory in Kryvyi Rih.
aiMy son, my defender, who became the defender of Ukraine, my hero, the hero of the country for which he gave the most precious thing he had. Click the link below to read the full story.
