Shine Even in the Most Difficult Circumstances

aiWhen the war started, both mentally and physically, I was ready. I had just finished a tough training session with friends, so I was in good shape. Life didn’t change drastically for me; before, I was already accustomed to challenges, leading an ascetic life, with part of my time dedicated to serving others. This was a new challenge where all my training and mental strength could be used in the right way.
aiAt that time, I heard from many sources that such circumstances are an opportunity for quick growth because you have many chances to realize yourself through serving others. Whether you’re a warrior with a purpose, a volunteer driven to help, or just an ordinary person, everyone was doing something to assist others. Even if you hadn’t yet discovered your purpose in life, moments like this make you realize it — there’s no time for delay; you have to act.
aiIn 2022, you could see how everyone was united by a single thought: What can I do to help? People were collecting food, supplies, and distributing them to those in need. Others focused on relocating families and delivering first aid to hotspots. The whole country was shining like a thousand lights, filled with strength! The best human qualities emerged. Our values were tested, and all the superficial things fell away.
aiFor years, my daily routine included meditation, yoga, and various psychic practices that helped me grow and stay in shape. And it's become even more essential, because when you're face to face with death you need to find something that never breaks down, you need to understand who you are beyond your body, beyond all your attachments.
aiThinking back to that time, I recall those moments with feelings of joy and warmth inside; I was doing exactly what I live for - supporting people and providing relief in difficult times. We were able to help many people then.

Such circumstances are an opportunity for quick growth because you have many chances to realize yourself through serving others.

aiOne day, I received a call from a man. At first, I didn’t realize who he was. He told me that we had helped his family when his daughter lost her leg in an explosion. Our seemingly small financial support was crucial at that moment. He spoke with such gratitude and shared how touched he was. He was calling from Norway, where he and his daughter are now living. He showed me photos and videos of her learning to walk with her prosthesis.
aiDuring that time, my mantra was to keep a positive attitude and a fire within. If you meet someone, you need to offer at least a bit of peace. So many people were confused, lost, and scared, and in moments like this, you must be an island of peace amidst the raging sea.
aiOne of my most powerful experiences was meditating during the sirens. My heart was pounding in my chest, and in my head I had images of explosions, as if a missile was hitting my house. I had never used a bomb shelter. In those moments, I could observe where this fear lives, what exactly I am afraid of, and who I am beyond this feeling. Through observation and experience, my understanding of myself changed over time and I could overcome this fear.
aiI realize that without daily practice it would be impossible to keep myself in a high state. Fear holds you back, and if you don't raise your energy to your heart, it's very difficult to live and act.
aiAs I look back at those moments in time, I am rethinking my current life now…
