ai–painting and story by Valentina Bereza
aiI am the wife of Yuriy Viktorovych Aksyonov, who died on December 17, 2022 near Bakhmut in the village of Klishchiyivka, defending Ukraine.
aiOur love story is 26 years long. I don't know if it's a lot or a little but it had every chance of continuing if not for the damn war.
aiWe were absolutely happy, and we started every new day with a kiss and a cup of coffee together. Over the years, we learned to read each other's eyes and breath. When you love words are superfluous, you just feel the person, their mood, their state of mind. My eyes no longer sparkle like they used to. I am devastated, only with him did I feel filled.
aiThe rashists killed my beloved, destroyed my life. But no one will ever be able to kill our love, true love will definitely conquer death.
aiI don't know how to live without Yuriy but I have to learn. I will carry our love and keep the memory bright. I know that time will pass, my pain will dull. I will somehow learn how to keep going, but I will not learn to be happy without my beloved...

Twenty-six years, a lot or a little? Our love had every chance of continuing if not for the damn war.

aiTo be happy without you
aiI have no chance.
aiI tread the path to your paradise.
aiYou will meet me one day beyond the horizon. You will take me in your arms.
aiTwo tired souls will be together forever, where there is no pain, no tears, no time.
ai (in the Ukrainian version it is a poem)
