aiWhen the full-scale war broke out in late February 2022 and the first explosions rang out in Kharkiv, Vlas took his pregnant wife and young daughter to the border so they could leave the country. He returned and went to the military headquarters in Chernivtsi where he enrolled in the newly created 68th Hunter Brigade. They said that it was a reserve brigade but in two weeks, after a short training, the boys were sent to Donbas. He did not inform his wife as not to scare her.
aiVlas chose his call sign – "Yol" – in honor of his daughter Yolanda.
aiHe was appointed liaison officer and chief technician. He was the first in the brigade to set up Starlink. After three months of impeccable service, the fighter received the rank of junior sergeant of the Armed forces. Later Vlas was offered to go to serve under contract but he refused. While at the front he does what is necessary but he does not like war and military affairs.
aiVlas gradually got used to the difficulties of army life and wrote in his 'What's up with Vlas' Telegram channel: "The armored vest almost doesn't feel like a weight anymore. And in the beginning it was pure suffering to carry day after day. I'm in shape to carry my family in my arms for days and not let go."

aiVlas' unit served near Ugledar where heavy battles were fought. He tried to be in touch with his wife every day but did not report difficulties (although explosions could be heard on the phone). Later, she found out about it all.
aiIn early August 2022, Victoria gave birth to their second daughter, Ursula. The doctors' diagnosis was confirmed that she did have Downs Syndrome. Vlas was happy they now had two daughters, and he was sure that everything would be fine with his younger one. In his Telegram channel he wrote: "Our daughter came into this world as a 'sunny child,' we will do everything to make her happy!" He could only see her on the phone.
aiA month after Ursula was born, on September 5, 2022, Vlas died. It happened in the village of Bogoyavlenka in Donetsk region. When a Russian missile, on tip-off, hit the house where Vlas Lisnyi's unit was located, 12 of his comrades died together with him.
ai…On his birthday, Vlas joked that he has now the age of Jesus. It turned out that he is forever 33. On the next birthday of her husband, January 24, 2023, Victoria wrote on her Facebook page: "Heroes die, everyone already knows about it. All we have left are short videos, photos and correspondence. I turn on "circles" for Yola, she is happy and takes her dad to show him her new toys. I have memorized his every word, but when he looks at the camera like that, for a moment it seems that he really called."
