Changes and self-identity

By Olha Zahoruiko

aiI understood one important thing quite clearly. I left with things only for a week. It was difficult to accept my homelessness, the lack of some things, comfort, the impossibility of being alone, making coffee in my favorite Turkish pot, sitting in the morning garden, watching a movie in a comfortable chair with my favorite blanket.
aiStill I cannot consider myself a hostage to things. For me it was a garden and flowers first of all that brought tears to my eyes,. Now it's easier, but I still don't have a great desire to start new favorite things.
aiMy team now consists of different nations, different outlook on life, everything is different 🌎. I understand the saying much better - those you meet are your mirrors🤔.
aiSo, now I fully appreciate all the intangible things that remained with me:
ai- An incredible number of friends and support (if you list them all, it will take several pages!) 🙏❤️
ai- Professional experience, plus thanks to coaching - two-way support for both those who needed it and myself
ai- Knowledge of languages

When you lose everything material, what will remain with you?

ai- Spiritual practices (meditation, qigong, yoga...
ai- Experience of all previous trips
ai- From the new - chronic volunteering in any format (for sure everyone already has it)
aiAll this is much more valuable than houses, cars, ordinary things.
ai❓When you lose everything material, what will remain with you?
aiI hope this post will help a little to those who still find it difficult to accept the absence of home and familiar things. (About loved ones - of course, this is a separate painful story). But we have already changed during this time, and will continue to do so.
aiSo when we are now all over the world - there is a reflection of not only individuals, but also of a strong-spirited nation, as the world sees us now💙💛.
