The Power of

Connectivity

By Jim Bowden

Frisco, Texas, United States of America,
Oct 28, 2022

aiThe assembly of lovely people gathering at St.Sophia Ukrainian Greek-Catholic church welcomed me with open arms. We worshiped, prayed, cried, hoped, trusted, and were inspired by a powerful message from the pastor.
aiMy heart broke, and my stomach churned when I first heard the news of Putin's war launched last February 24th. All I wanted was to stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine. On February 27th, the first Sunday after the unprovoked invasion, I worshiped God with a congregation of Ukrainian people only minutes from my home.
aiAs I witnessed Poland open its heart, mind, and hands graciously welcoming 3 million displaced Ukrainians into their country, I knew I needed to go to Poland. I told my family that I had to go. They confirmed and supported my calling.

They confirmed and supported my calling.

aiA few members of a church I had once served had connections with the President of the Texas Association of Polish people who knew the President of the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce. Warsaw alone welcomed a half-million Ukrainians.
aiThe Chamber President arranged for me to teach classes at the Warsaw Museum of Independence, the Capital Theatre, a local lounge, and the University of Higher Theology and Social Sciences. And so I did.
aiNow, we still meet together via video conferencing several days a week. Glory to God! Glory to Ukraine! Glory to Heroes!
aiPlease pray for Ukraine and consider helping them in any way you can. You will change their lives, and they will change yours. There's nothing like the power of love connecting people. I am Rev. Dr. Jim Bowden. Please feel free to write me if you have any questions or want to know more.
