We are proud to share with you the results of the second event in our new large‑scale project called Brave Action Readings.
On December 14, 2024, it took place on the topic of “KEEPING GOING WHEN NORMAL IS NOT NORMAL”

Part of the audience was in a librarian room in Burlington, USA. Authors and guests from all over the world connected to the readings online using ZOOM. The war stories that were read aloud in English and Ukrainian acquired an incredible emotional tone and touched every heart.
The authors presented their articles MOMENTS OF TRUTH written for Brave Action Ukraine.
In particular:
- Oksana Astapovych told us about her horrible moments, the moments, when you stop breathing and wait for endless minutes for the important message from her native city in Ukraine. She is now in Germany.
- Yana Kosinova-Zhukovska invited us to meet with STREET ART ON RUINS in a city near russian border that has been an object for daily bombing for almost three years of war...She is now in Germany.
- Nataliia Liudvychenko (Kyiv, Ukraine) calls on us to remember the high price of Ukrainian freedom, presenting in her article THE TABLE OF REMEMBRANCE international action dedicated to fallen heroes.
War is ruthless, it destroys people's lives. In these dark times, it is important to feel the support of those who do not know the horrors of war from their own experience, but who sincerely empathize with us, Ukrainians. So I am incredibly grateful to those who are willing to listen to those moments when the horrors of war leave you breathless.

Those who suffered from the Russian strike today, and all the other days in my city and everywhere in Ukraine – they are someone's children, parents, loved ones. As I contemplate this, I stop breathing again...
It was an inspiring event for me: when I see the desire to listen to our war stories, when I see sincere interest, it gives me a sense of hope and support from Western society, which dispels the feeling of loneliness... I want to keep going.

The full‑scale war radically changed the life of every Ukrainian. On the Day of Remembrance of Fallen Defenders restaurants and cafes across Ukraine set aside a table for the day, prepared as if awaiting a guest, in honor of fallen heroes — those who will never return.
MEMORY IS THE ACTION.
